Syrian Friendship Association was established in 2009 with the aim of providing solutions to the related problems by establishing local, national and international partnerships, implementing national and international projects by carrying out researches and events for the groups especially such as women, disabled, youth and children in the subjects of culture, arts, vocational training, environment, sport and health including the social, economic and cultural development of the citizens of the Republic of Turkey and primarily for the refugees, who had to flee Syria due to the civil war and were forced to migrate to other countries, and it operates with 18.000 members in 5 branches and 2 representatives. Our Association is a non-governmental organization that aims to empower Turkish and Syrian refugee brothers and sisters through entrepreneurship.

For this reason, we have carried out various events, activities and trainings for the purpose of empowering our both Turkish and Syrian refugee brothers and sisters, who had to flee Syria due to civil war and are in the temporary protection status and other statuses in our country, in both the economic and socio-cultural areas in since 2009. In addition, by being cooperated with public institutions and institutions, respected universities and non-governmental organizations of our country to organize field researches, studies, vocational trainings, panels, workshops and conferences to work on the problems of refugees and Syrians at various statuses and works for suggesting solution. We carried out these events and activities from our own resources and our own project budgets both.

- As the Syrian Friendship Association, we participated in the works on the FOREIGN IMMIGRATION POLICIES within the context of the SPECIALIZATION GROUP FOR THE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WITH THE MINISTRY OF DEVELOPMENT OF TURKEY.

- Entrepreneurial Women in Development and Social Interaction Conference in cooperation with Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Policy-Development Agency and SDD

-Workshop on Promotion of the Labour Migration Management Project in cooperation with Turkish Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Immigration Administration, British Embassy-International Migration Organization

-Workshop on Refugees Forced to Be Displaced in Turkey and Economic Development in cooperation with Immigration Administration of Turkish Ministry Internal Affairs of Interior, the Swiss Confederation, International Centre for Migration Policy Development

- Roundtable Meeting on Migrants and Socio-Economic Adjustment in cooperation with TOBB University

- A protocol was made with the Ministry of Education, Life-Long Learning General Directorate. We have the authority to provide vocational education and language training in 81 provinces.

- I am Teaching a Profession to My Brother Project in cooperation with the Ankara Development Agency, the Ministry of Development

Within the scope of the project, we opened a practical studio with a capacity of 500 students with 6 classrooms in Altindag, Ankara.

Over 1000 participants including Syrian men and women were given a Turkish literacy course and MoNE certificate.

- In addition, we published our work of TRC2 Region Labour Force and Market Analysis of the Syrian Refugees as a book (in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Development, Dicle University, SDD)

- Within the scope of the project, we opened a vocational education and language school with a capacity of 350 students and with 5 classrooms in DIYARBAKIR.

- Within the scope of the project, we opened a vocational education and practice school with a capacity of 300 students and 100 students enrolled in KİLİS.

- Protocol between ILO and the Syrian Friendship Association was made and a training was provided to the Syrian refugees (82 participants) regrding the vocational training with a MoNE certificate (Sewing-Embroidery)

 

--168 persons (SDD Vocational School) in Ankara provided vocational trainings on Construction Technologies to the Syrian refugees (MoNE Certified) in the project of TAMEB (Turkish German Cooperation Skill Development).

--- A protocol was signed between the ILO and the Association of Friendship in Syria and language trainings (100 participants) (A1-A2) (MoNE Certified) were provided to Syrian refugees.

- 170 participants (SDD Vocational School) in Kili provided vocational trainings on Construction Technologies to the Syrian refugees (MoNE Certified) in the project of TAMEB (Turkish German Cooperation Skill Development).

- A protocol was signed between the ILO and the Syrian Friendship Association and language trainings (78 participants) hairdressing training (MoNE Certified) was provided to Syrian refugees.

As Syrian Friendship Association, we have two representatives in Antakya and Cerablus, vocational schools in 3 provinces (Ankara-Kilis-Diyarbakır) and 5 branches (Gaziantep Branch, Kilis Branch, Sanliurfa Branch, Mersin Branch and Istanbul Branch).
